EnkPi: Universal ePaper HAT for Raspberry Pi Pico W lands with optional E Ink displays - NotebookCheck.net News

Last month, we discussed the Inkplate 2, an E Ink and Espressif ESP32-based device that its manufacturer sought to crowdfund on Kickstarter. Alternatively, there is the EnkPi, a series of E Ink displays that rely on the Raspberry Pi, as its name suggests. For reference, all EnkPi units utilise the RP2040 microcontroller via the Raspberry Pi Pico W, which launched alongside the Pico H and Pico WH earlier this year.

According to the EnkPi Kickstarter page, all sizes have four programmable buttons, plus dual FPC connectors, a battery connector and additional GPIO pins. The EnkPi has a real-time clock (RTC) too, as well as Micro USB, USB Type-C and microSD card connectors. At the time of writing, the EnkPi is available on its own as an ePaper HAT or with a choice of 2.9-inch, 4.2-inch, 5.83-inch or 7.5-inch ePaper displays. Nerf Gun Rack

The EnkPi starts at US$10 as a Universal ePaper HAT and rises to US$18 for the HAT with a Pico W. Additionally, EnkPi offers the HAT with a 2.9-inch and 296 x 128-pixel ePaper display for US$50, or a 4.2-inch one (400 x 300 px) for US$74. Furthermore, there are 5.83-inch (648 x 480 px) and 7.5-inch (800 x 480 px) options available for US$92 and US$98, respectively. On current estimates, EnkPi backers should start receiving units in March 2023.
